Goblins
Goblin #15
"Fangtooth the Rancid"

Fangtooth!  Yes, I know that Fangtooth is a bit more expensive than his fellow Goblins, but Ye Gods, what a sandblast!  He really turned out to be quite an exceptional egg indeed.  He's something of a twisted combination of an egg, a sea slug, and claws... Just the sort of creature you want to accompany some late night reading!

Fangtooth has a ridge of plateau running along his underside, which allows him to sit semi-upright, if tilted.  What I personally love about the pipe is the extent to which it is coming right at you... It has an entertaining perception of forward motion to it.

The moss green stain really helps Fangtooth  seem alive, and the briar was quite accomodating in that the blast rings almost seem to be compressing and rippling with motion as the creature raises its front claws.

Fangtooth is a large pipe in two respects - not just big in bowl height, but with a larger bowl diameter than I commonly use.  He'll swallow quite a lot of tobacco in a sitting!

Front-facing claws can be tricky and require some extra care in gripping, but they can also be fun.  For Fangtooth, the best grip holds him with the index finger between the two front claws, giving the entertaining sensation that the pipe is gripping your finger in return!
