Goblins
Goblin #13
"Grabnackle"

Here's a pipe that just wants a little attention..  in fact, it's reaching for you...

I wanted this one to have a really fun view from the smoker's perspective, and I think it worked out quite well - Looking down the pipe is a bit like looking into the fangs of a big green spider.  The extent to which the "claws" are shifting about, coupled with the rolling, undulating smooth rim, gives it a very organic and "living" feel.

Rather than the usual horn stems used on many of the Goblins, this one has a simulated amber acrylic stem, with a custom-cut wood decor ring turned onto the stem body to cover the internal joining of the tenon (I've always thought meerschaum stems were unattractive when one could see the screw-in tenon through the material).

Unlucky #13?

The stem & decor were chosen because I wanted to do a little something different to mark #13, obviously a special number in the Goblin series!  Even though in reality, this is 16 or 17, as I've done at least three for requests that I can immediately think of.  Still, we'll let Grabnackle be special.  He is reaching for us, after all...

Unlike some of the other Goblins, this one requires no special handling - It fits the hand just like any "normal" pipe, and benefits from a straight-shot airhole, a nicely-sized bowl, and light weight.  Beautiful bird's-eye on the smooth rim, also!
