Name: Horn

Notes:  The band on this is NOT white, but artificial ivory, with a subtle and beautiful grain patterning running all through it.  Unfortunately, this muted effect became totally white in all the photos, but I made this close-up to showcase just the band and its grain.  I'm actually quite proud that my stem/band fit & finish can still look good under such magnification, despite the odd bits of fluff.

Positives: A very graceful and elegant horn shape which avoids one of the common horn problems, namely, thin spots on the back of the pipe.  BIG bowl - Big pipe all around, really, with very nice high-contrast grain and a stunning bird's-eye display across the front and part of the left side.  I even did a good job with the stamping, amazingly enough.  I was particularly careful to avoid one feature of horn shapes that often annoys me - The top of the bowl can be seen during lighting (Horns that tilt forward look dramatic, but I've never bee keen on trying to light my pipes blind)

Negatives: Yet another pipe that I'd like to keep for myself!
