Name: The Dublin-Monster Notes: Another huge, rugged "American-style" pipe for the Rheinbach show. Positives: Yet another Very Big Bowl, for the lovers of ODA+ sizes. Thick walls, dead-on drilling, and a handcut cumberland (It looks a bit black in the pics, but it's cumberland) stem. The tightness and intricate detail of the ring grain pattern have to be seen up-close to be believed - Just this afternoon I counted a full 45 years of growth from the top to the bottom of the bowl! I also think the smooth-blasted plateau top looks pretty nifty. The pipe is unstained so it should offer excellent potential for coloring. Negatives: The downside of the incredibly-tight age rings was that it was impossible to blast it to any great depth - They're just too close together. I think the intricacy of the surface more than make up for this, though.
