Ligne Bretagne Standard Shapes 16-20
|
 |
Bowl Height: 4 cm
Chamber Width: 1.8 cm
Notes: A 6 paneled design of very classical proportions. I am no fan of
panels but this one and the #17 below are both fun and stylish, and
this shape has enough curve in the bowl to render it elegant rather
than clipped. I could wish for thicker walls in this bowl, but overall
it's a neat piece.

Bowl Height: 3.5 cm
Chamber Width: 1.8 cm
Notes: This is a little English beer mug tavern pipe. It has 6 panels
laid out in the design of a big ale glass, but it is a small pipe -
ideal for taking to the pub for a pint and some darts. Devilishly hard
to finish and probably rare in the LB line as a result!.

Bowl Height: 3.3 cm
Chamber Width: 1.8 cm
Notes: Collectors bicker about the name for this shape a good bit. I've
heard "rounded bulldog", "bullmoose", "rhodesian", etc. Whatever the
name, it is an exceptional shape for smoking - very thick walls,
comfortable in the hand, light, and with a much thicker and more
durable bottom curve than the regular bulldog design. This is the
stummel we've chosen to be the 2002 Ligne Bretagne Yule pipe.

Bowl Height: 5 cm
Chamber Width: 1.7 cm
Notes: A large and fantasy-themed piece ideal for a graceful
churchwarden (also known to be smoked by wandering wizards). Thicker
walls than the other churchwarden stummels. This was an original idea
for the 2002 Yule pipe but at the time it was voted out on the basis of
some peculiarities of the stem setup we'd chosen. It's likely to return
as the 2003 Yule however....

Bowl Height: 4.3 cm
Chamber Width: 1.7 cm
Notes: Here we have the traditional clay pipe rendered in briar. The
walls are (thankfully) thicker but it still offers lightness combined
with a long shank design that will work with regular or churchwarden
stems. This was another candidate for the 2002 Yule pipe.
