Ligne Bretagne Pipe

Notes: This is a pipe that simply had to be sold direct because there was so much labor in it that I couldn't afford to wholesale it through P&P. There will be an entire pipe blog entry going up about the story behind this piece shortly. It's a monster of a pipe, and what you see is the cut-down version (see blog story)! In the photo above, the pipe is shown next to a typical GBD bulldog for size comparison. LOTS of good stuff about this one - Incredible sandblast (it was an extremely old, ODA-sized block of Algerian briar and it just blasted fantastically, helped by my new media and re-built blasting cabinet), big bowl, very defined stacked ring grain, and by magic (again, see blog story) it will pass a cleaner despite what will appear to be an offcenter mortise drilling. Expensive for a Ligne Bretagne? Perhaps, but it was originally intended to be a Grade 4 Talbert Briar, one of the handful I've ever made with the "Extra-Extra Large" grading, which would have sold for a whopping 506 €, so it's quite a deal at this price (If nobody buys it, *I'm* keeping it for myself, LOL!) The only real downside is the sheer weight of the thing, since it is massive enough not to be a clencher, ever.

Length: 16cm

Bowl Height: 5cm

Weight: 87.4g
