The
Tom Bombadil
In
the Spring of 1999, I bought my first sandblaster setup. Up until
this point, I had never worked with a sandblaster although I had
extensive experience in airbrushing, and it turned out to be not
so different. I played around with the rig for a short while to
get the hang of it, and after a bit of practice I produced this
pipe, which was the first sandblasted pipe I put up for commercial
sale (as opposed to the mangled bits of wreckage I had experimented
on). It was a lot of fun to make, and the result was such a craggy-yet-cheerful
pipe that I couldn't resist naming it after old Tom. This is Talbert
Sandblasting, Version 1.0. To my knowledge, the pipe is in the collection
of Fred Goldring.
